Running a turbo? Want an open exhaust on the street?JekylandHyde 11-10-2004, 12:31 PM My sincerest apologies if this was already posted ... if it is "old" ... or if I am the last to find out. Otherwise, enjoy: http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/release091004.htm Igovert500 11-10-2004, 12:37 PM Now that is interesting...a cutout controlled like a wastegate. I've only seen normal cutouts...nice find Jeff kittedb18bt 11-10-2004, 12:43 PM i haven't seen it. neato. DragonofBC 11-10-2004, 02:07 PM Interesting concept. The problem I see is having to run a vacuum line under your car to the actuator. I've always heard it is good to have the shortest tubes possible when t-ing off your vacuum lines (the reason that MBCs work better from under the hood rather than cockpit mounted) and it would be a long tube to get to the downpipe. I'm still on the stocker so I wouldn't know the difference but I thought a benefit to bigger exhausts was that they give you more low-end torque? I guess that is why there was little difference in the dyno until 4.5k rpms. JekylandHyde 11-10-2004, 02:24 PM I would expect the gains to only be had at the top of the rpm band, that is when you are flowing more air. As for not wanting to run the vac line ... there isn't that much air in vac lines. I have a main vac line to my cockpit that Ts off 3 times: boost gauge on each pillar and also to the Blitz DSBC. GTStang 11-10-2004, 04:30 PM Neat I've seen it done before with the an electric dump and wired in to a MSD rpm activator on a DSM before. pissboy 11-10-2004, 04:54 PM thats cool I had manual dumps on my old mustang. gtstang why the name if your a stang hater? GTStang 11-10-2004, 08:10 PM thats cool I had manual dumps on my old mustang. gtstang why the name if your a stang hater? Look at #12 and think bout it pissboy 11-11-2004, 09:28 AM funny cause my 69 mach 1 killed an ls1 camaro. let me explain, I was out on a saturday just cruiseing around, when 2 emeinem wannabe's pulled up next to me in his black and red camaro, and was doing the typical mmmm looking at my car and started revving it up, I just laughed inside, dude my car is 32 years older than your car I said to my self, the light turned green and he dumped the clutch, lite up his tires and took off. while I just rolled off the to the next light where he was waiting, when I pulled up this time I was about to say nice burnout, but before I could he opened his mouth "yo that thing is a piece of shit" and his passanger was laughin, so I decided since I usually dont race my stang I would give him a go at this light. I smiled at him and knodded at the light.the light turned green and were off, my reaction was abit quicker than his plus not knowing how to feather his clutch he agian lite the tires up,I pulled about a 1/2 a car on him in first then when I hit second at about 6500rpm my tires broke lose and he pulled about a 3/4 of a car on me,then third and I pulled by him by 1/2 car, we had to brake for the next light, when he pulled up this time I said "nice car, to bad a 32 year old car just kicked your dads cars ass!" his passenger wasn't laughin now and he didn't have a reply. typical kids out in there mom or dads car thinkin just cause there car is new they can race!! just cause someone with an old car sitting at light doesn't take off like you do it's not a piece, but any way it was a kill for my 69 MACH 1. ls1 camero ss 0 69 mach1 1 pissboy 11-11-2004, 09:36 AM oh yeah so your list you might want to up date that. 1. the ls1 is beatable 12. the passanger was giving him oral. 14. if you think a car is unbeatable think again, see rule 1 there is always a faster car than yours somewhere. don't go by magazine articles they are one sided. CassiesMan 11-11-2004, 09:42 AM Pissboy...GTstang's sig is a joke. s-15racer 11-11-2004, 09:51 AM Pissboy you know what a joke is right its not meant to flame on anyone(I find it funny) JekylandHyde 11-11-2004, 10:43 AM uhm ... this thread is about a piece of exhaust for turbocharged cars. It is a realyl novel boost-activated piece that allows you to run basically an open exhaust at while boosting ... :) http://www.jekylhyderacing.com/images/res_squeeze.jpg pissboy 11-11-2004, 10:47 AM yeah I think its funny too. sorry if the post sounded the wrong way. Hypsi87 11-11-2004, 10:49 AM I would personally rather just have an eletronicly activated dump. If I need to have open exhaust, I will just open it. LotusDreams 11-11-2004, 12:43 PM That's rad.
