New time with the "truck" All motor pass!Slowprocess 11-08-2004, 09:53 PM I just posted this in the street section because I do about 90% of my racing there. Got my first time since I built the truck. It's nice to not have to depend on a power adder. :grinyes: 60ft- 1.849 330- 5.228 1/8- 8.071 MPH-85.69 1000ft-10.562 1/4- 12.676 MPH-106.36 I'm still on my stock g80 rearend, so I'm kinda conservative on the launch. The street slicks hook pretty good, but the rearend will let go of one tire on any kind of launch over 1200 rpms. I'll have that taken care of really quick though. CassiesMan 11-08-2004, 10:03 PM 12.6 all motor...Nice. JekylandHyde 11-08-2004, 10:36 PM That must be a hell off a motor ;) ... how much does your truck weigh? Slowprocess 11-08-2004, 11:21 PM That must be a hell off a motor ;) ... how much does your truck weigh? Thanks, JekylandHyde!! It's a pretty strong setup for a "street" truck. Street trim with me in it- 4565lbs Track trim empty(no speaker box,tailgate)- 4285lbs I drove 5hrs to the Shootout, ran my 12s, then drove it the 5hrs home. This morning I got up and drove it to work. 50 miles round trip every day. I'm really pleased with it. carrrnuttt 11-08-2004, 11:29 PM How much did the 6.0 block cost ya? bad360rt 11-09-2004, 12:08 AM Nice job! Always nice to see other fast trucks :) Nothing wrong with power adders tho :p -Jayson- 11-09-2004, 12:12 AM great times man, but yeah whatcha got against power adders? Slowprocess 11-09-2004, 12:21 AM How much did the 6.0 block cost ya? I got the block out of a wrecked HD with 12000 miles for $950. Slowprocess 11-09-2004, 12:28 AM great times man, but yeah whatcha got against power adders? Nothing guys, nothing at all. It was a personal goal of mine, that's all. On another truck forum, there were several guys with the nbs Gm trucks dipping into the low 12s/11s with power adders, but only 2 listed in the 11s/12s NA, so I made a goal for myself to get up there in the top slot. I'm now in 3rd to a guys 12.64@104. I know I've got the power to get in the low 12s, I just need the rear end to take a little bit more aggresive launch. I'm going to have a tough time beating the top dog with the 408 putting down the 11.7. See guys, nothing at all against power adders, just had a goal for myself.(I'm setting it up for a nice sized wet shot for the street pretty soon.) :naughty: chevydrummer76 11-09-2004, 12:37 AM nice times......have you had your truck dynoed? Jetts 11-09-2004, 12:41 AM crazy! Slowprocess 11-09-2004, 12:55 AM nice times......have you had your truck dynoed? Not yet, I'm trying to set up a day to get up to Memphis and strap it down. My buddy will have my video of the run up sometime this week, so I'll have it linked up pretty soon. I haven't gotten to see it yet, so I'm really excited about it! -Jayson- 11-09-2004, 01:01 AM ohh ok cool! I like power adders personally, and really they arent all that different than any other power adding engine mod. I mean a port and polish lets more into the engine, and supercharger does just the same thing, just on a larger level. chevytrucks92 11-09-2004, 01:24 AM Man that is awesome! For people interested in power numbers, those engines came stock with 300 hp and 360 lbs-tq (some have 320 hp, just depended on which truck it was in). bad360rt 11-09-2004, 08:16 AM Best of luck on the low 12's, where do you live? I'm gonna try tonight for my 11's, best so far is 12.02@116.71, she's definitely got the power, just gotta get it to the ground a lil better ;) Boosted1 11-09-2004, 08:54 AM That is one deadly time, and one fast mother of a truck. Congrats man! :smokin: BullDog71ss 11-09-2004, 12:06 PM Nice numbers on the 6.0 man...i've got an 02 HD with the 6.0...love the motor, power everywhere. flylwsi 11-09-2004, 12:53 PM hell yeah, tons of props for that... i love sport trucks, but it's nice to see one with real work done, not just slammed and stuffed with stereo... Slowprocess 11-09-2004, 01:05 PM Thanks alot guys! I'm really hoping for low 12s Saturday night. It's supposed to be around 40 degrees here Saturday night, so if I can stick the truck, I'm really expecting a low 12. I've still got a few more things to do, like the underdrive pullies, throttlebody work, and a slightly different intake setup. I've also got to get my bigger injectors in, so I can raise the shift points a few hundred rpms. I'm really maxing the stock injectors out in the higher rpms. bad360rt - Good luck on your 11s. I'm kinda in the same boat as you. i can't get overly aggresive on my launch, because I can pull a 1.7 60ft, but the rear end will let go and one tire will smoke up. I'm still only launching at 1000rpms. If I don't get 11s after I finish the bolt ons and the traction work, I think I'm going to go ahead and slap on small shot to get me there. I would really like to take that 1st place new body style all motor title, but 11.7s are going to be tough! kittedb18bt 11-09-2004, 02:02 PM holy heck dude, nice run!! keep us updated on any changes you have to your truck. bad360rt 11-10-2004, 12:36 AM Well, finally got my 11's! 11.87@116.03 to be exact :) Damn that felt good. You'll get there Slowprocess, make sure to keep us updated along the way! Jetts 11-10-2004, 12:37 AM damn thats so fast in a big ass truck! Slowprocess 11-10-2004, 09:19 PM Well, finally got my 11's! 11.87@116.03 to be exact :) Damn that felt good. You'll get there Slowprocess, make sure to keep us updated along the way! Congrats, bad360! I'll see what I can do this weekend. Slowprocess 11-13-2004, 05:25 PM Got a few pics from the Shootout. Still waiting on my Dazzle to download my runs to the computer. http://home.stx.rr.com/jas/thunder/thunder04%20029%20(Medium).jpg http://home.stx.rr.com/jas/thunder/thunder04%20030%20(Medium).jpg http://home.stx.rr.com/jas/thunder/thunder04%20067%20(Medium).jpg 90redgt 11-13-2004, 07:08 PM Man your guys's trucks make me feel depressed! I'm struggling to get 12.60's all motor in my 3500lbs mustang. Gaww. life isn't fair, time to buy a chevy. haha j/k :p Slowprocess 11-13-2004, 09:46 PM Man your guys's trucks make me feel depressed! I'm struggling to get 12.60's all motor in my 3500lbs mustang. Gaww. life isn't fair, time to buy a chevy. haha j/k :p We had some fast ass trucks there. That scsb blue gmc went 13 flat on the 5.3L, all motor. We also had a single cab stepside with a built 408 pull off a 11.7(All motor!!!) pass. That is the fastest all motor new body style truck I have heard of so far, but hell, it's a built 408 with an ass load of money in it. It's a trailored truck as well. I drove mine 300+ miles, ran it for two days, then drove it 300+ home. The extended cab truck in the pics went 13 flat on the spray to my 12.6 on that run. I can't wait to get it ready to post! carrrnuttt 11-14-2004, 12:08 PM Have you ever tried running with the tailgate on, just to see how it affects your run? Slowprocess 11-14-2004, 06:17 PM Have you ever tried running with the tailgate on, just to see how it affects your run? Yeah, it isn't much difference in the run. Kinda one of those things to do that might help. It's like a hundreth of a second faster or so. :evillol: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
