does a 98 camry le 2.2 have a governor??? if so what is the top speed ? my camry wont go past 180kmh(110 mph)

I would be surprised if it did not have a speed limiter. I know my car before anything was done was doing 140-145(highest on speedo) and still had some left. I only got up then immediately backed off due to crosswinds and the dang troopers. I did not get caught(thank god). But pretty much the only and more fun way is to go out to an open road or drag strip and find out what happens. Besure you have fresh fluids good tires with proper pressure in them etc before trying this. Oh make sure you do a smoky burnout to clean the tires and help with some traction.

I have a 98 LE 4 cyl, and seriously doubt it has a governor. I got it up to around 105 on several occaisions, and it had a lot more to give.

Maybe you had overdrive off which did not let the car shift into 4th gear?

overdrive was on, i guess thats all it will do but thats fast enough for me

my friend has a 98 camery and it won't go over 110 either.
