Ssom 11-08-2004, 02:29 AM Shit, nice looking Coupe, but gosh it looks funny when it's lowered on snow tyres, lol. Yeah, it doesn't snow over here so I don't have to worry about snow tyres on my car :D CivicSiRacer 11-08-2004, 10:32 PM drumpet15 11-09-2004, 01:03 AM Snow tires rock, man! It is quite the look, I must say! blight 11-09-2004, 10:43 AM Hey is that you car! Do how do you get that to handle in the snow like that AND get tracktion from alot of power?!? I just started posting in the 92-95 civic section about a civic winter car. What would one need to do do set it up fpr "ice" or "snow racing"??? I've seen this in a magazine ONCE so i know very little about ice racing - can you telll us alittle more about it? Snow tires!!! http://home.comcast.net/~mikelouie/Civic2044a.jpg CivicSiRacer 11-09-2004, 12:43 PM The most important thing is ground clearance. I raised my car back up about 2". Although I was still on my Konis and Ground Controls for that event pic - it's not the best setup. You want a suspension with alot of travel and to be soft and compliant. Two weeks after that event pic we returned to the same lot and it was ice. I thought my car was going to break. You want the skinniest snow tires you can fit on your car to to dig through the snow. Tires with alot of sipping helps. Also e-brake is your friend :) I never did an event like that and learned alot about vehicle control. And yes that is me driving. polacek 11-09-2004, 12:57 PM fiercecivic - Looks like you are leaking oil from the oil cap. What kind of snow tires do you use? CivicSiRacer - any chance making that picture a little smaller, or at least cropping it down a bit? Nice ride btw CivicSiRacer 11-09-2004, 03:00 PM fiercecivic - Looks like you are leaking oil from the oil cap. What kind of snow tires do you use? Blizzaks i have on steelies i enjoy them for winter snowman2005 11-09-2004, 07:55 PM Snow tires!!! http://home.comcast.net/~mikelouie/Civic2044a.jpg that's tight. how does it handle. does it slide all over the place. my dad use the handbrake every second when he drives in canada during winter. Civic_D16Y5 11-09-2004, 08:18 PM i bet he puts his rims on his wall in his master chamber, i jsut run my snow tires all year round, and now i have no traction on dry land, and am i royally f00ked? GScivic7 11-09-2004, 08:55 PM omg lol, running snow tires when not in snow will eat your tires so fast. The rubber that is used in making snow tires is a lot softer than summer or all season tires so they wear really fast CivicSiRacer 11-09-2004, 09:28 PM HERRA SWEET! when is that man cause i don't care how far i wanta do it too! doesn't it hurt to run steelies and see your purty rims sitting in the garge. Blizzaks i have on steelies i enjoy them for winter You have to check with your local scca club http://www.scca.com We have one near Frackville (little south of Scranton, PA; little north of Harrisburg/Hershey). Why would it hurt? You have better traction with snow tires than street tires. Actually someone showed up in a Ford Focus SVT with his OEM tires and was stuck. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
