Rear Quarter Window Leaks Aircamping 11-07-2004, 06:32 AM 2002 silverado extended cab 4-door. Window makes noise like air is coming in. This is only on drivers side, rear quarter window. Any ideas? AaronIROCZ 11-07-2004, 09:03 PM Mine is doing the same thing on the passenger side, I read on here a while back and the only thing you can do is replace it. But I am going to try some thin Foam weatherstrip and see what that does. korndogg 11-07-2004, 09:29 PM yeah mine does the same....i looked at it, and the latch is loose where it connects to the column. i think im gonna have to take it to the dealer to get it fixed. Nigel215 11-08-2004, 06:29 AM Is it just me or do the latches on these windows not seem to click shut very hard. I think it should be a little stiffer to open these windows. Like, when you shut the windows, i would like to hear a nice "click" or something. camping 11-08-2004, 06:54 AM Where are you putting the foam weatherstriping? Let us know if that helps. cesderek 11-08-2004, 01:38 PM The dealership installed screws on the back side of the bracket to stiffen the latch. The latch does not "click", but it does make the latch close stronger. The screws go from behind the handle to the frame work of the window. I tried using weather stripping also, but made the window produce even more wind noise. PigPen5150 11-08-2004, 08:35 PM When I worked for Chevy we replaced the windows. Don't know if they have another fix now, but this was only 9 months ago. isophase 11-29-2004, 03:40 PM I had same issue with my 2000 Silverado.. Dealership told me to get a paste Silicon.. Apply a thick coat to the Rubbers (All Seals) let sit over night with Doors Open or Glass.. and in the morning wipe off excessive Silicon.. and it would make the Seals Expand to original Size (sealing air noise) nineball481 11-29-2004, 05:19 PM I had same issue with my 2000 Silverado.. ANNOYING! xlseeor 12-06-2004, 04:43 PM 2002 silverado extended cab 4-door. Window makes noise like air is coming in. This is only on drivers side, rear quarter window. Any ideas? Mine was doing the same thing, but on the passenger side. I bought an replacement window on e-bay and took the truck to a glass shop to have it put in. The guy there said there was no need for a new window. The old one had just popped loose in the frame. He snapped it back in place and didn't charge me anything for it. Problem solved. Anyone need a replacement for their right rear window?? '02 Z71 12-13-2004, 01:35 AM when I bought my 2002 in Oct. they replaced the windows for me @ there expense @ the dealer. no problems since then! {SBX}bigDaddy 01-10-2005, 01:42 AM I had the same problem on both windows. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the latches under warranty. Never happened again. I drive a 2000 silverado. red00lght 01-10-2005, 05:44 PM Well, My 99 is way out of warranty and I never use the back side windows, so after trying about everything, I just used some spray adhesive to the weatherstripping and it holds the window shut with no noise. It seems to last pretty good...and I can easily open the window and get rid of the adhesive with goo-gone if necessary. Yes, you have to be pretty frustrated to glue your windows shut!! :evillol: Elmer_Fudd 08-14-2005, 11:48 AM I have had the noise for a while, I took a good look at it today and the windows are getting ready to fall out. I think the leading edge is glued in and the adhesive is releasing. My warranty expired in June so I am going to raise h$@@ and see if they will fix it. take a good look at your window, if you close the door and see the front edge pop out, yours are loose too don’t push out on them from the inside you will only make it worse. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
