Headgaskets suck, but i just have a question about my 1986 1.5l carbed crx, the water evaporates, it will overheat, but what i have done is i had to hook up a switch to the fan, so it constantly runs, i have changed the thermostat, radiator cap, since the previous owner put on a 7lbs cap... and the stock cap is supposed to be 13lbs, the car runs great, starts up, no smoke out of the exhaust, no problems, except for overheating when the water evaporates, no leakes under the car, think the block could be cracked? small leak in headgasket? waterpump? What about the Radiator? I've also checked the oil, the oil is clean, no signs of water mixed. any ideas would be great

doesn't sound like a waterpump... Maybe a hose has a leak? Or there is air in your coolant system. Did you bleed the air out? Let the car run without the cap for a few minutes..

yea, i would sqeeze the hose til air bubbles came out, then i tried to let it idle, but it starts to over flow out of the radiator, maybe there is a block somewhere?

i've flushed the system already, nice clean water in it now, still overheats, but now it actually takes a good while, about 25 minutes, but its also cold where im located, im guessing 30 degree weather, maybe 25

I'd try putting a can of stop leak in the radiator. This would plug up any small holes. It kinda sounds like you have a leaking head gasket (leaking towards the outside of the block). Then again, I'd listen to Figori, he might be able to give you an unbiased suggestion. "Bad head gasket" seems to be my standard suggestion these days, especially after mine went bad!

well i started my car yesterday, filled it with water, turned my fan on and i took the radiator cap off, it just kept bubbling for about 10 minutes, then i finally gave up, but today im going to bleed the air through that screw on the side where the top hop connects to

ok, well since it keeps bubbling, i guess it would a blown headgasket... damnit, would that also make the idle high? i mean sometimes the idle would be fine after it kicks down, but it doesnt kick down sometimes and the idle will jump to 2500, its a carbed 1.5l
