im just wondering if any one can tell me what the diffrence between an N/A FC and an N/A FD would b. just the engines. becaues im looking into getting an FD but their too expensive if i want a running one. so i figured if i could then pick up and engine from an FC thats got proublems with its body and drop it in the FD's body.i figure i can save at least 5 grand. plus im almost 18 so i know that a running FD even if its N/A would b way too much power for me. no it wouldnt b my first car. an i know i have to pay alot more attention to rotaries than a conventional engine. but theres just something about them.dont get me wrong. i plan to have **AT LEAST** the turbo FD engine if not the Twin turbo eventually. and im not one of those kids that just wants to race in the mountains. i want the FD's body because i see alot of first gen. and FC's around my area. it problably sounds stupid putting a FC engine into an FD but to find a running FD around my area for under 10 grand is impossible. i figure i can get the shell of one for about 1-2 grand and then the engine out of the FC thats got a messed body for prolly another 1-2 grand. Id like to go turbo but unless i can find a "TT FC" engine then i dought that its gunna happen for about 4 years. any advice would b helpfull.

thanks

The obvious answer here would be... there is no such thing as an N/A FD.

Ok first off there aren’t any n/a FDs, no TT FCS just a 13bt for the FC which is a single turbo 13b. I'm not totally sure but I think the motor mounts on a 13bt or 13b are different then the 13brew. A FD shell is more then likely going to run you around 4-5k unless you're lucky then you might find a wrecked salvaged title FD for 1-2k but that’s still unlikely. As far as the gens go I like the second gen body the most but from what I've heard the first gens are the most reliable, but the FD is going to make more power stock, but it will come at a cost (reliability) unless the person you buy it from has taken care of the car and you continue to do so.
Mind you some of this isn't fact but my opinion so take it as you would like on how the generations go.

12as are very capable engine, some ppl gets 680hp out of em

yea well people get 900hp out of th 13BT from the FD so I think the 12A would be a bad idea

but i beleive you
i posted that so you all just dont think 12as are shit and cant produce any power

True, but this guy wants to fit a N/A motor in his FD, and he doesn't know how to type, so I doubt he is going to build a 680 hp 12A. I personally like the motor, but I was just mocking the fact that this guy is a tool

im pretty lost when you guys started in with all the 12a, and stuff like that. im not used to any thing about a rotary. if some one could explain about the engines and what year/model there out of than that would help alot. im just getting into more preformance cars. and the car would have to b a daily driver so relibility would b a must. but i wana have some power because id b trying to keep up with 240's, turbo2 rx7's, camaro's and other high powerd cars. im not fond of the body that the first gen's had. the second gen's body is ok but i prefer the third gen's. i think its 1992 up.i know basically nothing about rx7's. i know how they basically work but i dont know much about what engines were turbo and what not.

If u have any suggestions about what to do please tell me. and i am willing to learn.

you wont be able to get a n/a rx7 that can keep up with 240's with sr20, t2's and camaro's.
being you, i would calm down and have a nice coffee, breath once, then twice, and i would made my mind : you cant have a n/a FD (you could but it would be stupid). and 250 hp is not that much.

1st gen = 12A engine(78-85)
2nd gen = 13B, 13BT (1 turbo)(86-92)
3rd gen = TWIN TURBO (93-95)
