Weired Turn signal Problem Camry 1998bnadi 11-03-2004, 02:18 PM Hi there I am new to this forum and did some search on turn signal threads, I found similar symptom but not quiet the same. Here is my problem: After using my turn signal when the handle goes back in the middle (off position) I hear the blinking noise twice as fast as when turn signal is on, however the signal lights stay off. In order to stop the blinking noise I have to turn on the opposit turn signal while holding my hand on the turn signal handle, and release it back gently. I can avoid blinking noise using same technic when I use right turn signal only, the left turn signal has mind of it's own!!! This happens most of the times, however, there are times that it does not happen at all. Anyone has a clue what's wrong? Thanks in advance. dariusfan 11-03-2004, 06:35 PM Hi there I am new to this forum and did some search on turn signal threads, I found similar symptom but not quiet the same. If you can get at it try and clean the contacts. Or check at the wrecking yard for a used one. An easy thing to try first is to check for a burnt out turn signal lamp. Usually when one lamp is burned out the remaining turn signal will blink twice as fast. Check this first as you may have two problems - a burnt out bulb causing the fast blink and a stuck detent ball in the switch or some crud in the hole that it should detent into. Good luck yotatechie04 11-04-2004, 12:49 PM I agree, it does sound like a bad switch. Although it could be a combination of the relay getting ready to go bad along with the switch as well. bnadi 11-10-2004, 11:52 AM I got the problem fixed. The problem was bad contact on relay. The guy who fixed it told me he opened the relay cleaned it up and put it back. He noticed loose wire when he opend the relay.
