Identifying a Fiesta EngineLukeH 11-03-2004, 03:27 AM Hello, Can anyone help me identify an engine that I bought very cheaply? I think it is a MK1 XR2 engine, well I hope! It has an engine code as follows: 771M-6015-CA. It also has a twin Webber carb that I believe was only on 1.3 or the 1.6 XR2 engine. Any help appreciated. Thanks Luke mechy1barry 11-03-2004, 03:18 PM bit more info would be helpfull as code not recognised--should be something like fiesta--L3e escort--Lra/Lr1 (early engines) LukeH 11-05-2004, 03:30 AM Problem solved!! I took the rocker cover off and found the stamp with the numbers 37 which according to Haynes manual is an XR2. Thanks to mechy1barry for the post. XR2s also had a higher compression so it would be interesting if the pistons have been replaced as well. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
