sticky gas pedallsu4me98 11-02-2004, 11:58 PM I recently purchased a 99' pathfinder & am trouble with the gas pedal sticking. To be clearer, when @ a complete stop I try to accelerate & must virtually punch the gas pedal. It seems like there should be some simple lubrication that should fix this, but i'm not sure what it is. Any thoughts are appreciated! lewisnc100 11-03-2004, 07:15 AM Very common problem, just buy a can of throttle body cleaner, remove the air intake line from the throttle body, and start spraying. Make sure to put a towel or something under the opening to catch all the gunk and clean the butterfly valve softly with a toothbrush, should be good as new. You'll be amazed at what comes out. lsu4me98 11-05-2004, 01:30 PM Thanks for the info, I will give that a try striker6 02-03-2005, 12:06 AM I had the exact same problem.... ata stop, press the pedal and whoomp!! you launch forward. You will be amazed at the results of cleaning out your throttle body! It will seem like a new truck. Nica and smooth with great pedal control. I am pretty good with cars and do all my own repairs. I was really surprised to have overlooked this. One of the guys at the local auto parts store gave me the tip. 30 mins very well invested. Take the large black rubber intake off the front of the throttle body and spray the heck out of the whole thing. I used a toothbrush also. Good luck. stusoccer21 02-03-2005, 02:32 PM i had the same problem...but it shouldnt take 30 min at all(no offense to striker)...just lift the butterfly flap up and spray and wipe. dont have to scrub or anything and it turns out great. striker6 02-03-2005, 10:07 PM ok, so I added some extra beer time in there. I had to make it look good to the wife while I was out there wasting time. You guys know how it is. LOL. stusoccer21 02-04-2005, 12:01 AM ohhhh...i got ya now...good thinking =P vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
