IAC Problem, Idle was low and stalling, 99 camrywilliam_v 11-02-2004, 05:24 PM I just got back from the dealer and want to let u guys know that i just got charged 474 for a new IAC. The IAC costs about $255 plus $189 for labor. Some of the problems was that the car didn't want to start up unless i left my foot on the gas and once it warmed up i woulf stay at low rpm's. Hopeful the problem is fixed. Before goin to the dealer i wuld try to fix it by cleaning with i regret not doin now. the IAC is a black box located under the intake tube. Its really easy to find. Just remove the screw and spray some oil and see if the works. Also if the IAC is messed up, there will not be a check engine light. royv 04-12-2005, 01:45 PM I have the same problem on my 98 camry. Has anyone tried cleaning the IAC and does it work after burchard 04-13-2005, 03:54 PM I have the same problem on my 98 camry. This valve almost always tends to fail because of carbon deposits. Search this site and you will find a variety of procedures to clean it. Some of them require you to remove the AIC and others do not. Good luck vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
