Does anyone have any recommendations for a winter tyre for a 2000 Taurus SE (Vulcan) to get me through a Canadian winter? I'm considering Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50, but it's tough getting reliable information as to how good they are.

Thanks

I know the Blizzak is used by the RCMPs in my neck of the woods. I would say they must've had some research done to pick these.

I've had Michelin Alpins, they work good, but they wear extremly fast. I never got 2 seasons out of them.

My overall best allaround preforming tire (considering cost) I had on my Taurus were Tiger Paw Ice & snow. The wear on them is good enough that I can keep them year round, they're not noisy and ride good. If you want to use them for winter use only they can also be studded.

Hope this helps,

Denis

Thanks - I hadn't considered that one. So far I'm been reading about the X-Ice, Pilot/Arctic Alpin and the Blizzak WS-50.

Try Nokian WRs they are pretty good. But pricey
