HI, I am hoping someone can help me out. My mother has a 1998 Lumina LTZ and she is having some major electrical issues. OK here we go....when you start the car the green blinkers lights come on and stay on solid (they do not flash) The brake light is on, the anti-lock light is on. The fan does not work, if you turn the fan on #1 & #2 clicks it stays the same but #3 the headlights go off. #4 the headlights come back on. Open the car door and all the lights on the dash and dome light comes on. ( I know dome light is suppose to) Sometimes there is a noise coming from the dash. the dash light (the white one) is very dim and seems to fade in and out. The green flasher light brighten and get dim. I know this all sounds strange. The alternator has been changed already and that did not affect it. There is a remote starter installed but has been for 4 or 5 years but car has been doing this for maybe 18 months or so. It just got re registered. Does anyone have any suggestions?????

Know a good priest? Exorcism is called for here.

Seriously, the alternator was my first guess. But if not that, you've got some serious ground loop feedback issues. Someone is gonna have to start chasing wiring and find the problem. I don't see an easy answer to this one.

Hi, Just to let you know that we solved the problem finally. Nobody could find the problem so my father finally crawled under the dash and found a ground wire loose. he tightened it up and everything is fine!!!ARG 2 years later!!!!!!!

What have I been preaching here? Always check the grounds first. Great job to your father!! I'm glad the demon is gone.

hey Jeff, I loved the exorcism joke, funny stuff. It's nice to know people can give good advice and have a sense of humor. Any time you have bizarre electrical problems, grounds should be checked first.
