Jerking and Whining - Please help

I have a 2000 Pontiac Montana and for the past few months every time I drive it I can feel it shift hard into the next gear. I feels like it is lugging or jerking into gear. I also makes a whining sound. I hope it is not the transmission. I just had the transmission fluid changed but that didn't seem to help. When I get out of the van the engine seems hotter than normal. You can feel the heat radiating from it.

I have had some electrical propels with it as well. The CD player and clock digital display is out. Also the airbag light and brake light stay on.

Please help

The electonic parts in the tranny are bad. My 99 had the same problem at 40,000 mi. GM won't help I don't think they like people.

If it was just jerking then I would say it might be just the PC solenoid........but it sounds to me like the tranny is toast, most likely broken bands.Whining is never a good thing I am afraid unless you have a 400 HP muscle car with a stall converter :naughty:
