Not that i'm gonna try it or something, cause i need the trailing spark if i actually want to drive it on the street... kali420 10-31-2004, 04:43 AM ok first I need my excentric shaft to not twist which happens at 10-10.5rpm second mazda adds a 3rd spark plug on the 787b 4 rotor and still I dont think they get above 12k rpm could be wrong but then I also need to add carbon or ceramic apex seals and for the granny's speed shop guy would like to stay rotary please! but thanks for the input still looking for better ways than just pulling out 2 spark plugs and if it works please give me documentation to look at and how the over come excentric shaft from twisting someone told me about milling my shaft called knife edgeing or something but havent found anything he said his friend gets 16k rpm I dont know but sound nice D3rELiC 10-31-2004, 07:51 AM your friend's friend dont drive a rotary, he drives a F1 v10 with pneumatic valve opening and all the stuff that makes F1 engine cost alot and rev till 16k. the periported 26b with 3 sparkplugs used to win lemans in 91 wasnt doing any power past 10k, so it wasnt reving past 10k, plus it would never have been reliable for 24h reving past 10k. you can have a bridgeported engine rev in the 11k range, but it would not last long. lets say 10 hours of race + the break-in period. mcs 10-31-2004, 07:32 PM i swear ive seen a rotary engine that rev's to 17k somewhere and only the block costs 18k MBTN 10-31-2004, 10:44 PM lol. If an NA were to push those numbers it would idle at about 3000RPMs, get 5MPG, NOT pass emissions and last a whopping 5000 miles. You'd also go deaf. Neighbors would complain and your car would be impounded. Good luck :) D3rELiC 11-01-2004, 03:30 PM lol. Neighbors would complain and your car would be impounded. Good luck :) it would mostly likely idle arround 1.5-2k rpm, not pass emission, produce 145 db open header. its called a peripheral ported engine, hahahaha some ppl manage to get 380 hp out of em, for dragracing and 325-330 in road racing where the engine must run longer.. FCsilvia 11-01-2004, 05:11 PM kids these days.. Steel 11-01-2004, 05:57 PM Peripheral port. And a lightened flywheel with a scattershield. And a carburator. And lots and lots of gas. And special lightened race rotors and hardened stationary gears and a damn good E-shfat that'll make sure the rotor doesnt contact the housing. And premix. Lots of it. And a bunch of money. And earplugs. kali420 11-01-2004, 08:43 PM [QUOTE=D3rELiC]your friend's friend dont drive a rotary, he drives a F1 v10 with pneumatic valve opening and all the stuff that makes F1 engine cost alot and rev till 16k. no he has a second gen rx-7 with a rotary engine I know that much, just not sure about 16k, I dont know anyone that can afford F1 V10 so I know thats not what he has (umm K) kali420 11-01-2004, 09:54 PM "He" i thought "you" had the RX7?
