AKWE-gt 10-27-2004, 09:25 PM thanks,AKWE-gt...thats a good idea..get the heads and intake done.I'm not looking to turn this motor into a LT1, I wanted to know if swapping the two intake would make a differents. The TBI compaired to the TPI...did that help... the same goes for the tpi as the lt1, new fuel pump, ecm, etc... the tbi intake is like a old one piece carborated intake, while the tpi and lt1 intake sytem have a lower intake, runners and a plenum. the swap can be kind of a pain in the ass if your not comfortable with all the sensor and ecm swapping, but there are books and kits for it. here's a site with intake swap your looking for. seen it done Trucking mag and the results were impressive on the dyno. http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=edepartment.asp&N=120+4294925239&x=16&y=9 4onFloor 10-28-2004, 01:02 AM if you get a tpi set up from a 90-92 camaro you dont need to change the ecm. just string the 2 injector harness into an 8 injector harness. run the injectors in parallel(same thing as edelbrock's multi port kit) because tpi is not sequential. but you would need a new fuel pump with an output of atleast 45psi. but seeing as how you have a suburban, i'd stick with the tbi, it's better for low end torque. type in a search on ebay for a 454 throttle body. there's guys that sell rebuilt throttle body's with the bores milled to 50mm and custom throttel plates. that would wake up your 350 a little bit.
