HELP!!! My 87 has no power on any incline or straight if I don't shift before 2500 rpm. In neutral will not rev over 3500-4000 rpm and after then it will not have any power to get out the driveway. Could this be the fuel filter?? It was running fine, got gas and then lost power and been getting worse ada after day? Any advice?

I had the same problem, needed a new clutch, it would hit about 3000rpm then just nuetral in every gears.

Actually, it will not rev above 4,000 in neutral. If i floor the pedal in neutral, reminds me of the sound if you would pull off in 5th gear.

changed fuel filter. Runs better and stronger, but it started to lag again ???????????????????
