Hi, we have a problem with the cd stereo. After jump starting the van due to run down battery it seemed to do something to our stereo, the radio works okay but every few minutes it "check cd" You can hear it running continously even without a key in. Is there anyway to reset this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there:......Our CD player did the same thing with the similar noise. We left it for about a day and it fixed itself. We did clean the laser in the Cd.

You have to unplug the wire to the CD Player in the back. It will reset itself and you will be good to go. Take the console off, pop out the 3 screws that hold the stereo in place, slide it out and pull the plug out. Pop it all back together and you are good to go!
I had the same problem and I was gonna buy a new stereo. Glad I didnt.

Had the same problem with my 2000 Montana after my wife killed the battery. Not entirely sure what she did, but that battery was completely drained. After jumpstarting, the CHECK CD message kept coming up, accompanied by repeated noise from the CD player. Sounded like the player was attempting to eject a CD that wasn't there.

Located the 10amp radio fuse in the fusebox under the hood. Removed and replaced. problem solved
