:2cents: I purchased a 2003 Cartier, new in Dec 2002. Now have just over 36,000 miles on it. Has been to service center numerous times for warranty work. This is third Lincoln Town Car that I have owned. Do yourself a big favor and find a GOOD low milage 1997. IMHO it is a much better car. The 2003 is a better driving car, more power but not as comfortable as the older ones. David

I read with interest your post. I am looking for a Towncar 98 on up primarily because I like t he styling better than the 97's and below though the styling on that model is not bad. Can you tell me what kinds of problems you have had and whether they are likely to occur again. I am thinking that if your problems are typical with this model then the warranty work would take car of them.

pappasmith: RE: my 2003 Cartier. I guess that I have finally gotten all the problems solved within warranty. The car now has 42,500 miles on it and I have not had any more problems. At 40,000 miles I switched to Mobil 1 oil and purchased an additional nine spoke wheel w/tire. Again, I like the power and steering of the car better than previous model years but I like the ride in the '97 and earlier better. My car is for sale since it is more expensive than I wish to spend in order to make it towable on four wheels behind a motorhome.
