I want to run at least 10 psi on my gsr. What would I need to do to run this safely and what would be the cheapest way to do it.

Either build the bottom end which is not cheap at all...or put a thicker headgasket on the car but make sure you have enough fuel

dont say you want a psi, tell us how much hp you want. different turbos and make different hp at the same psi level

I'm getting a greddy turbo kit, I dont know how much hp i want, however I do know how much boost, 10 psi.Whatever hp 10psi makes I'm cool with.

so i see yoru not in it for the power, your in it just to say that you run 10psi. :disappoin

well with a stock gsr, push it to either 300whp or 10psi whichever comes first but with a greddy kit i doubt youd hit 300whp at 10psi probably wouldnt hit that till after 10psi. but if you do some how manage to exceed 300whp at 10psi, i would recommend a small build up of rods and pistons lowering hte cr to something under 10:1 like 9.5 or 9

oh the reason i say 300whp because a stock block can handle 300whp reliably so if you can hit 10psi before you get to 300whp then your ok with a stock block but if you hit 300whp befor e10psi then you gotta build your block alittle.

If I was to do a small build up where can I get it done at. I live in south Dakota and there aren't any performance shops in my area. They have some machine shops but I'm not sure if they do the work.

gsr's have pretty high compression. so if you turbo it your looking at alot of pressure on the internals at full compression stroke. so i would work on lowering the compression. a thicker head gasket and low compression pistons can take your compression into the high 8's. cars that come turbo stock have a compresion in the mid 8's so i would consider that pretty reliable i would say with those to mods 10psi would be fucking easy i would say you could push it to 12 if you got the balls and the fuel management to back it up.

jeff@IB has his stock gsr block with a thicker hg pushing 350whp @ 11psi but idk how low his cr is

i am guessing sense they start with a 10.5:1 he would probly be at like 10:1 maybe a little lower but dunno for sure really. still high compared to the D
