I wasnt to get an invader style CF hood, but have always wanted it painted red, to match the body style. Can you paint a cf hood just like a regular hood? Are there any issues or irregularities I need to be aware of?

I'm pritty sure you can just paint it. But im not sure.

LOL sorry, but in my town i've heard of people painting their carbon fiber hoods. Most of them are honda owners tho... so im not too sure. Are you going to put it on your eclipse in your sig? I would just keep it carbon with out painting it.

easy but you have to prep it just like a normal hood so if u want it for the c/f look dont paint it , if its just for the wheight theres no problem what so ever bro it will be fine as long as you prep it right

It would look amazing if you painted body colour flames on the hood so that the red flames end and cf continues toward the windshield. Not sure if you understand, kind of hard for me to word I'm tired.

So you meen keep the carbon base but paint red flames on it to match the car? That would be a nice way to blend it in there.

This is my artistic version of the idea. I'd drop the bra, it wouldn't look too good on CF. I think it would be pretty unique, I dunno maybe it's a bad idea.

just keep it CF with a big red mitsubishi diamond in the center.

what if you have a mitsu emblem taped off on the hood then paint it....remove the taped off area so the hood is red with a cf mitsu emblem? just an idea

The mitsu emblem would look tight but I stiill think you should either paint the whole thing red or do the red flames on it.

im pretty sure they make carbon fiber in colors now. like you know how the origional shiz is black on grey kinda.. well i think they have em in like red on grey and blue on grey and shiz... might look neat...

thats exactly what i was thinking... and i know they do. they make carbon fiber in any color you want, i'm sure its not the exact color but it will work!

i would have someone try to paint the whole hood red except the tear drop/ scoop thing. try to have it blended so theres no solid line where the paint ends and cf begins.

you can always have ECLIPSE in cf and the rest red. ooooh now THAT is something to look at... Personally either the flames idea should be reversed, that way you have more RED showing on your hood (cf flames would be unique).. But it would be much slicker to tape off eclipse or whatever phrase you desire. Careful tho, i've seen some pretty sh*tty flame jobs. :eek7:

just put the flames on it and in hte middle of hte flames leave eclipse in carbon

i think that idea is good too. tape off the mitsu emblem and paint the rest.a c/f mitsu emblem would look awesome.
