OK here is the problem..... I have a 1994 3.2 4x2 v6 a/t rodeo with 146k miles..... took to get it inspected thinking all was well...... boy was i ever wrong... most of the stuff i have checked up on and seems they are either gone or on there way to kicking the bucket.... the one thing that i cant seem to deside on is the Center Drag Link.... ok now your saying well whats the problem... here it is... i asked the guy what that part was and he couldnt answer me.. so im thinking he is bull shitting me trying to get my money.... i tried to look up the part in the Hynes manual but cant find it.... ive researched the part and no luck... im thinking its the drave shaft or part of it at least.. am i wrong? Also is this something that commonly goes or am i just a lucky one... if anyone has any info on this i would be really gracefull thanks jim Dober89 10-22-2004, 02:24 PM im not expert but im thinking its the center bar on the front end that steers the truck?? 94s didnt have rack and pinion did they?? supraman_j 03-02-2005, 02:56 AM doobers right for lack of a better explanation .it is the center link that steers the truck. and if your mechanic says you need it you probably do. if you doubt your techs opinion find a new one. i would suggest asking friends who they recommend not just the cheapest but the most honest. good luck btw it is a normal wear item and with your mileage dont be surprised if you are told you need ball joints, bushings, idler arm, etc. im looking at $600 my cost in frontend repairs- if i was a customer paying for labor and markup it would be about $3000 or so Cat Fuzz 03-02-2005, 10:12 AM Alot of places, if they find a bad part like that, will take you out into the shop while its on the rack and point it out to yu. It's very easy to demonstrate to someone who doesn't know about cars the looseness of a center link. I would take it to a second mechanic, like superman said. To bad you don't live near me, I could tell you for sure but Rhode Island is a bit of a long drive to Spokane :iceslolan Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
