I am gonna replace the valve cover gasket on a 90 Accord EX....car has 190K miles....it looks like oil is just beginning to seep out and one spark is starting to show a touch of oil. Question....any tricks I should know? Are the spark plug gaskets easy to replace?? What else should be replaced? YOur help and input is appreciated...

Adjust the valves while you are at it. Put silcone sealant at the sharp corners where the gasket goes up over the camshaft.

Ok....I have never installed any gaskets made of rubber....what type of sealant do i use on the rest of the gasket??

What tools do I use to adjust the valves???

You do not need any other sealant. You need a feeler gauge, screwdriver and a 10 mm???? end wrench and a Haynes or Chilton manual.

Make sure you get the kit from Honda. It has the gaskets for the spark plug holes too. The Honda parts dept. recommended to not use sealant when installing.

I called O'reillys Auto parts and they have the whole kit with 4 washers, 4 spark plug gaskets and 1 valve cover gasket

Honda wants $59 for the kit but O'Reillys wants $22...think there is adifference in quality?
