besides F1, has Honda ever made a stock turbo car straight from factory? I had always thought the s2000 and NSX were turboed, but I guess they are Naturally Aspirated?

BTW, whats the difference between Naturally Aspirated and Forced Induction?

f/i is forced induction i.e. turbo supercharge N2O, shiznat like that yo, where you have to be careful and not blow yourself up
while n/a is naturally aspirated i.e. incresing the bore and stoke, port and polishing the head. better intake and exhaust ect. just so long as its not 'forced'

nitrous isnt forced induction. with n/a you can go far, but never as far as with f/i. power comes from air+fuel, f/i adds all the air you can give it(or that it will take)

nitrous is considered force induction because it's forcing oxygen (and nitrogen) into the engine, as do turbos and superchargers.
But I wonder if the turbo'd racer car NSX had a honda made turbo (doubt it) or got it from somewhere else.

Hopefully we're getting close to Honda releasing a factory turboed vehicle. With the likes of the 6 speed trannies and the new RL with AWD, the next logical step seems to be some kind of FI in one form or another

Yes honda made a turbo car from the factory but it came out in the mid seventies and was only introduced to the european market.

i mean, if a car is made N/A, and u put a turbo in it, which is FI, wouldnt that contradict each other? o_O but yah i'll check out the FI forum

It's n/a until you put on a turbo,supercharger, or N2O then it's considered F/I

Honda has made turbo cars from factory, just not performance oriented cars, turbo diesels and shit.

Do a forum search!

Honda made several Turbo models during the late 80s, conincident at the same time turbo charging became popular in F1. They stopped doing it at the same time Turbo chargeing was effectivly ruled out of F1 (and they say F1 technology dosn't effect road cars).

The 1st generation Legand, CRX and Honda City were all avliable in Japan factory new with Turbos, the Legand used a Twin Turbo V6, the CRX a Turbo'd Twin Cam ZC, and the City a Turbo'd version of the EN, the same engine from the 2nd gen Civic.

Iv seen several Turbo Legands here in NZ, only one CRX (very, very rare car) and lots of City Turbos (before they rusted away).

I doubt honda will release a turbo performance car in north america anytime soon, I think Honda thinks they have the impression as less reliable (same reason the del sol trans top never made it here)......honda is very careful about its image as being reliable....

honda's image as reliable is the best thing it has going for it... for years and years and years, it's been... if you ask someone what they think of a honda, the first thing you will hear is "Yeah, they're reliable as all heck". and it IS true... the little dang things may lack power, grace, beauty, or a body (in the case of our ferrous oxide-laden older brothers), but they will run from now to kingdom come on a sip of gas and a kind word.

lately, they've become known by enthusiasts as cars that are reliable AND relatively easy to modify, and have fun in for cheap.

and the popular media has found the $%@# ricers.

Um...don't look now but rumor has it an AWD turboed TSX is rumored to be on the drawing board in Japan.

im pretty sure that honda has made turboed cars before although i have never thought about it? well i know korean car makers do it all the time to give their cars a little push to get up asian hills.
wow now that i think of turboed cars i think of my uncle's TURBOED VAN, ahaha sounds funny but this bad boy is a 3.0 litter, DOHC, AWD,turboed monster that can also fit 9! wow since his exaust rusted off it gives it a little more kick dumping right out the header! NO JOKE ITS A REAL NECKBRAKER, it pulls just as hard as my friends SUPERCHARGED SI,

i think that n2o is forced induction because nitrous is basically packing a crap load of air into the motor there fore it is "forcing" more air into by super cooling it

1st lets not get into any more N20 is or is not FI, that will only result in a flame war eventually.
2nd I don't think you have the slightest clue as to how exactly nitrous works, the cold aspect is not what makes more air get into the cylinder.
