Is anyone elses hood grills about to fall off? It looks as if each grill is attched by a number of plastic tabs. Most of mine are broken off. so to fix the problem i need to replace that whole assembly that attaches to the hood which i also need to paint. :disappoin Wonder if there is another way to keep those pieces from falling off.

I had a few broken tabs also. What I did was use a soldering iron with a tipped point and re-melted the plastic tab to the grill. So far they have been holding.

mine is handing on by a thread! Body shoy said I needed the whole assembly grill and trim piece, I think it was about $350 unpainted.

The grill inserts on my '03 Montana are destroyed. Is there *any* alternative to replacing the entire grill assembly? I find it hard to believe there any other options....

I got some expanded aluminum grille material from JC Whitney. This was a couple of years ago. It was not the expensive stuff, it cost about $15.00 US as I recall. It came in 4 tints. I picked black & am very happy with how it looks. Bust out the honeycomb pieces, tape them together, lay them over the aluminum, trace around them with a sharpie marker (black tint isn't very black, so marker shows up fine). the mesh came folded in half so unfolded and cut in half will give you plenty of material. Orient the bottom borders together on the old and new and it will look good. Bust out the tabs on the main grill piece and clean the inside well. Carefully lay in a bead of black silicone adhesive on the backside of the main grille and stick in the inserts. If a bird knocks it out, moosh it back into shape and glue it back! The main grille comes off the hood with 4 screws and I think 2 bracket screws so you can lay it on a bench to work on it. You would think GM engineers could design a sparrow-proof grille, but you'd be wrong!
