I just recently bought a 2002 4x4 yukon which was a heck of a deal even though it had a 4.8. I love everything about the Yukon besides this sluggish 4.8 which in my opinion runs like a v-6. I am thinking about getting a 5.3 off ebay and wondering if its just a simple swap of the blocks or what? I dont know if this will be worth the money to do this so does anyone else have any other ways to juice up this 4.8? Thanks!

PS...I have already tried the the cold air intakes and changing the muffler. Just a v8 with a v6 heart.

Have you thought about a supercharger?

Yes I have ponder the idea of a supercharger but the memory of back in the days of my friend adding a paxton to his 98 Z-71 which locked up his engine only two weeks later often dismisses the idea. I would only feel confrontable if I bought a engine that was truly designed for adding a super charger. I am really thinking about just changing the gears in my ride...I wonder what the factory gears and what I should go to?
