I've been quoted $500-$600 to replace the heater core. Why is this job so hi. Can I do it myself? Are there any special tools required? Where can I find instructions for this job?

it takes a long time as there's alot of shit you have to take out to get to the heater core, to find instructions buy a factory or Haynes shop manual.
