How to on an air intakeMyAccordIsFaster 10-17-2004, 11:40 PM If anyone has general installation instructions to a short ram air intake for a 95 accord, i would be most appreaciative for them. Thanks either way...or you can send me an IM on yahoo at german_draco_human 94accordVTEC 10-18-2004, 08:51 AM Don't have instructions but it's easy to do. 1. Start at the throttle body 2. take everything off Between the air box and the throttle body 3. put the short ram in the throttle boby 4. make sure to connect the 2 vacuum line you unhooked, hose should come with the short ram kit. note: to take out the air box just open the top, remove the filter, take out the 3 or 4 bolts in the bottom of it. p.s. i noticed your from Edgewood, ky...i'm from Lexington...welcome to the forum. MyAccordIsFaster 11-02-2004, 12:00 PM Yeah...thats what i figured, but heres my problem...there is two hoses on the engine, but only one tube supplied, and only a hole for one tube....my friend is pretty shure i dont need the second tube (we arent shure if it does anything...) I dont mean the one connecting to the engine. And thanks. (I was down there the other day for collage visit. nice place) DJ Brady 11-03-2004, 12:53 AM Hey ya'll, small world, I'm in Nichvegas (Nicholasville). 96 EX VTEC is my baby. Is the short ram worth anything more than a good rumble under the hood? I'm contemplating making a few upgrades to mine eventually. Igovert500 11-03-2004, 12:14 PM It is a good place to start if you plan on future modding...but as far as hp...you wont get any noticeable gains...maybe 3-5hp if you are lucky. It will make a rumble noise at WOT, and a hissing at idle. And it will slightly improve your gas mileage. But I think it is a good place to start if you want to start modding. Just don't expect too much. MyAccordIsFaster 11-03-2004, 03:14 PM Yeah...i finnally said screw it and put my intake on myself...but as for your question...itas not a 'rumble' (at least for me) its more like someone screaming at the top of their lungs. my car sounds better, and ive noticed that i can go up to 100mph in fourth now, insead of 85-90 (depending on weather...) and i like the sound at fot. As for me, my car is going to be a sleeper, so i like that it is bearly noticable at idle. my car idles a little higher at startup. Anyways, I think youl have to get one if you want turbo someday anyways...NOTE: I THINK..... scubawrstlr 11-03-2004, 10:19 PM I wish my accord was in good enough shape to mod. I want a new one so bad, but I can't find a decent one around here  96accordboi 12-28-2004, 11:05 PM dont worry about the body my cuzzs accord was worst than dat but we fixed it up in no time wel he had some cash to.......... but you shouldnt throw it away you might regret i still got my first accord in the garage. waste of space but reminds me of good times.lol blacknight 12-29-2004, 03:09 PM Here's a link to instal a CAI on a V6 Accord. Basically the same set up just on the opposite side of the engine bay http://6thgenaccord.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=856&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= 00accord44 12-29-2004, 04:59 PM Intake is a good base mod. low cost, nice sound, easy install. Well, taking the bottom of the airbox was a pain in the ass in my car (2000 accord), but other than that, easy. Anyways, I think youl have to get one if you want turbo someday anyways...NOTE: I THINK..... Disclaimers are a beautiful thing. When you add a turbo, you'll have to ditch the cai or short ram intake for the turbo intake manifold. Thats when a big, fat intercooler comes into the picture. Well, taking the bottom of the airbox was a pain in the ass in my car (2000 accord), but other than that, easy. WERD!!!!! It was a bitch to take out that lower airbox. It's because of that one bolt that's ALL THE WAY in the bumper. And because that space is so friggin narrow made it worse. They say you have to remover the front bumper cover, but I didn't.
