92 accord battery relocationskate42112 10-16-2004, 08:46 PM I was planning on relocating my battery so My AEM short ram intake could get more air, and I was also going to make a heat shield to seal off most of the heat from the engine. I was wondering if their was any chance of water getting to the air intake because of the fact their will be no battery in front of it and if it was possible for water to get in between the headlights or something during heavy rainfall. I was also wondering what gage wire I should use for the wire I’ll need to relocate the battery, I’m planning on putting it in my trunk, but that doesn’t matter I just need to know if I should use any special wire. Thanks 94accordVTEC 10-18-2004, 09:22 AM First of all moving the battery won't really make any difference to the intake, but if your dead set on it...don't worry about water...the only time you need to worry about water is when you have a cold air and you like driving through puddles (or lakes) without an air bypass valve on the intake. Secondly, several companies sell a "move you battery to the trunk" kit complete with all the wire you need and a battery box (Yes you need an approved battery box to put it in your trunk) check out this site as an example. http://store.summitracing.com/productdetail.asp?p=7185&N=120+400304+307185 they suggest 2 gauge wire vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
