What is/are the best sport models built by BMW to you? No Dinan or AC Schnitzer or etc type BMWs, I mean stock BMWs, like the M3. I mean to you, what do you think was the most perfect sport BMW built, and it's post-1980.

TO me, the perfect BMW ever built was the 850CSi. THe engine, the quality, reliability, the advanced technology, I mean, I can't find anything wrong with the car. The aerodynamics, the style, the aprons, the on-road performance abilities, and that amazing V12 built by M. TO me, that's the most perfect car ever built by BMW.

Now, time for you to choose.

E46 M3. Near perfect weight distribution, great engine, awesome handling. To me, this is what BMW is all about, combining incredibly well engineered engines, an awesome transmission (both the manual and SMG), with a great body, and some luxury to go with it. This is my idea of the perfect car.

The 8-Series were all a bit too heavy...

Putting v12 and reliability in the same sentence is very scary.

M10 and its bigger more cylinder mate the m30 are real deal reliability engines.

M coupe was my favorite off that list. I just love its unusual shape, and the power in that inline six was joyful.

635CSi is up there. Other choices may include the Z1, the Z3, Z4 and the Z8. Also the E12 and E28 M535i are choices. And the X5 4.6is and the new X5 4.8is can be choices.

:iamwithst e30 m3 -this car is freakin sweet... i chose e30 M3 and e46 M3 and i was expecting those 2 to have a vast majority of the votes, but i was dissapointed. apparently, boats are special cars these days, the e30 m3 is so awesome because it has heritage and it truly is a special machine and will still kick new car ass.... the e46 m3 is just sublime i love em both oh my god whats this the e30 and e46 m3... 2gether... pure sweetness

I like them all, but I think the E46 M3 is truly beautiful. BUT, I think the most amazing Bimmer ever would be the Z8. Now that it's discontinued it will be such a rare classic. When floored, nothing else sounds better. Totally ahead of their time!
