CF HoodRADMANX 10-15-2004, 08:52 PM I am going to look at this CF hood tomorrow: http://www.streetracing.org/boards/showthread.php?t=89161 it is $260 cash only, with no taxes... i am going to "look" at the hood first before purchasing it, what are some things i should be looking for to show the Quality of this hood? have any of you had problems with hoods not fitting correctly or being flimsy or cheap? metalhedskater 10-16-2004, 02:17 AM If i were you i would just worry about how it fits your car and if its lightweight...get the measurents of your stock hood and then measure the cf one... wouldnt be too worried about the quality because carbon fiber is carbon fiber...maybe tap it a few times to see if its durable????? RADMANX 10-16-2004, 12:47 PM Thanks. i just wanted to make sure i didnt get ripped off. Shpyder 10-17-2004, 03:45 AM when stuff that is expensive gets ridiculously cheap, it would be wise to question its quality. just a thought. drdisque 10-17-2004, 05:41 PM i know the guy who's selling those, he's a good guy and the people who have gotten hoods from him have been satisfied. RADMANX 10-17-2004, 06:12 PM i put it on today and it fit perfect, i am very happy. 1stGenRocks 10-17-2004, 06:42 PM pics? RADMANX 10-17-2004, 07:37 PM metalhedskater 10-17-2004, 08:55 PM wow it looks sweet man...man you should sell one to me! Do you notice a litte weight reduction...because man i can lift a cf hood with my pinky....its so light. RADMANX 10-17-2004, 08:58 PM i cant "notice" the weight difference, but i know it is a lot lighter, i also pulled out the window washer pump and the tank. Killa_DSM 10-17-2004, 09:50 PM Man, that looks really nice! It makes me wont a carbon fiber hood too!!! You should get some hood pins for your hood too. You dont wont it blowing up! RADMANX 10-17-2004, 10:32 PM and i only paid $260 bucks for it... lol.. i think because the underside is plastic instead of metal, but i dont care. Shpyder 10-18-2004, 03:36 AM nice. i hope the underside plastic doesnt melt though...youd be wise to get a heat shield wrap.blanky for the underneath...than tin foil looking thing. RADMANX 10-18-2004, 07:27 PM i have been driving it hard for the past couple of days ( i always do..) and it doesnt seem to affect it at all. Shpyder 10-19-2004, 12:33 AM the turbos generate a lot more heat...i wonder if it would hold up to them...? george536 10-19-2004, 12:40 AM i want one. dam ill start lookin for a cheap one. real_madridcf 10-19-2004, 08:31 AM looks nice man. $260 for a CF hood is actually not that bad! Be careful with that plastic on the underside. GSTRacerNVUS 10-19-2004, 12:31 PM That looks sweet! I want one of the hoods with the vents in them to bring in more air. But come to think about it, what if it rains? Nayr747 10-23-2004, 05:57 AM Yeah Radmanx, you really need to get some of that reflective stuff. My brother has a cf hood on his turbo integra (VIS and its plasticish on the bottom too) and it kind of deformed after a while, not really noticable but just to make sure nothing happens... BrianEclipse 10-23-2004, 10:46 PM that is the same one i got. just mine has a tiny crack in the front but not to noticable. just make sure you dont get some tard trying to drop your hood like a regular one. my dad did that and it felt like a kick to my nuts. set it down and press down with both hands spreading the pressure out evenly across the hood so you dont crack it.:smokin: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
