To Buy, Or Not Too, Suggestions.Cemz 10-15-2004, 04:48 AM Hi. I am a big fan of nissan Jap cars, especially the silvias and the 180sx.. Here is the deal.. My mate is selling his 1991 model Silvia Q (non turbo) for 7 grand.. I told him i might buy it, and his holding it on for me.. the features of this car is; Sr20DE motor 2.0L Manual Jet black paint job front bodykit Car Lowered 17" rims (nice, not crome) mamo Steering wheel (sides are crome) Tinted windows 4" exhaust tip. 2.25" full exhaust spoiler is taken off rear lights are dark tinted type New clutch no mods done to the engine. stock. so im wondering whether i should buy this car or not.. i currently got 8 grand.. the car is in very neat condition. he says the motor is also good and stable. (his my close freind, wouldnt lie to me, hopefully) Would you buy this car or save up more and get something else. I know stock silvia Q's auto go for like 6-7 grand. 1.8 liters. And one last question.. What would an Sr20DE manual motor pull in 0-100km/h in terms of seconds? Any rough ideas on this? vsiev 10-15-2004, 07:04 AM I wouldn't get it personally if you mean 8 grand in US dollars. People need to be more specific cause it could mean in US, Candian, Austrailian, European, etc. currency. Personally I would just go and get the K instead of the Q....It is a lot better with the turbo. SHIFT_KA24DE 10-15-2004, 10:18 AM yup... if it's just a sr20de in a 240... i don't think it'll be all that special. It's something you don't see as much as det's but it's probably b/c if your going through all that trouble to swap... why turn to a non-turbo again? Might as well "go big or go home"... get a turbo. Like vsiev said it doesn't sound like your in the US... and by reading the list of compenents on that car.. it's somewhat of a "for show" car.. not for go. I'm sure it LOOKS nice... i can tell you that much, but it might not be worth 8gs (if it's USD). kingcarm 10-15-2004, 11:00 AM Don't do it. You can get so much more in a 240 for less $$$$. I've seen very nice 240's with SR swap for around $6000. Miata Master 10-15-2004, 06:44 PM If you check his profile he is in Australia, melbourn. so 7g's is still high in my book. like 5500 usd I think But that is just a WAG. I just bought a 240sx and should have a rb25 in it within the month total about 7g's usd but that is with coilovers(used), rims, clutch, FMIC gauges and other stuff. but whatever up to you. Cemz 10-15-2004, 10:41 PM yes. i am in australia.. 7 grand probably means about 5.5 grand in USD. here in australia, auto, non tubo 1.8L stock silvia's go for bout 6-7 grand. turbo silvia's that are mAnual and 2.0L go for roughly 9-11 grand here. billclinton 10-15-2004, 10:46 PM that is alot for an old car R.W.240 10-16-2004, 01:13 PM If thats your bag and you dont mind having only 160HP id say go for it. But id go with a stock Kings over that. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
