New 6" suspension lift!ChuckH 02-17-2002, 11:39 PM Schludwiller and I installed his SLR lift springs this weekend and got about 6 inches of lift. Took us a minute to realize what was going on, but then realized that the shackles had gone up the wrong way when we lowered it. We were able to lift the truck back up and then it went back the right way afterwards. Sure looked funny at first though, especially since we hadn't don the other side yet! This picture shows how it was sitting. There is no jack or anything under the truck. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/500040IMG_1233af.jpg ChuckH 02-17-2002, 11:43 PM After we got the shackle straightened out. :) http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/470647IMG_1236af.jpg Xlax 02-18-2002, 12:41 AM That is Phat !!!..do you have pics of the truck after...side view etc??? ChuckH 02-18-2002, 01:17 AM Well, here's one taken from behind while the shackle was twisted up the wrong way. Keep in mind that the right side already has about 2" of lift with the AAL and so the left is way higher. Once straightened out, the ride height was close to the same with the new springs as with the AAL's. Strangely, the 3" lift doesn't actually lift the back of the truck 3", but probably 2". I think Schlud is planning on fixing that though! :D http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/322732IMG_1235af.jpg xoc 02-18-2002, 02:32 AM SLR has switched to 11 leaves ? SLR is no longer selling them with 1 inch shackles ? Just a word of caution, if the shackles went the wrong way when lowering it, it can happen on the trail. It almost sounds like the spring is too short. Schludwiller 02-18-2002, 04:22 AM Originally posted by xoc SLR has switched to 11 leaves ? SLR is no longer selling them with 1 inch shackles ? We just left the shock mounted when we attached it, so it limited the travel of the spring. When we did the other side without the shock mounted it did what it was supposed to do (the compression lengthened the spring and put the shackle in the correct positition), just an install learning experience. Toy Man 02-18-2002, 09:52 AM Schlud's new spring pack is from A/C, not SLR. rhombus 02-18-2002, 09:55 AM That is very depressing to look at. My stock springs are getting a little flat to say the least. I'm thinking of getting AALs but I'm not sure if I will be able to park the X after :( Looks great Schlud! xoc 02-18-2002, 01:21 PM Originally posted by Toy Man Schlud's new spring pack is from A/C, not SLR. I see. I thought AC had 12 ? Schludwiller 02-18-2002, 01:58 PM Originally posted by xoc I see. I thought AC had 12 ? Yes, but I took out the overload leafs (2). The spring pack already lowers clearance and I was concerned about them hanging on something. Plus I don't tow, so they seemed pointless for my needs. Toyman got sent the wrong set, and I was happy to help take them off his hands.. :) Schludwiller 02-18-2002, 02:03 PM Originally posted by xoc SLR has switched to 11 leaves ? But I'm thinking 1" shackles will probably be in order. I really wasn't planning on putting in the leafs last weekend, but my Nissan leafs were in better shape than ToyMans so we decided to do the swap while we had the two trucks together. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
