General Motors' minivans are the subjects of an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The agency will research the vehicles to decide whether the vans — which include the Chevrolet Venture, Oldsmobile Silhouette, Pontiac Transport and Pontiac Montana minivans equipped with optional power-sliding doors — to see if the vans' power doors can hurt passengers' arms when the door begins to move. The NHTSA has 19 complaints on hand for the vans, all from the 1998-2004 model years; in 13 cases the passengers suffered broken bones.
