It's on the top of the diff case. You'd better get it checked quit. scoutinkeith 10-14-2004, 01:32 PM yep, sounds like the rear axle ABS/speed sensor. it is magnetic, so when you pull it out to change it, take a look at the amount and size of shavings that are on it. if there are a lot, it might be a good idea to change the dif fluid wile you're at it. ral3ph 10-14-2004, 05:18 PM yep, sounds like the rear axle ABS/speed sensor. it is magnetic, so when you pull it out to change it, take a look at the amount and size of shavings that are on it. if there are a lot, it might be a good idea to change the dif fluid wile you're at it. i can see it on top of diff but have no idea how it comes out,do you by any chance. thx LTJGWorth 10-14-2004, 08:41 PM If i remember correctly, there is a retaining clip that's held onto the case with a bolt. All you have to do is take out the bolt and the entire thing pulls out. I've only taken mine off once and that was to fill the case with fluid. mxracer111 10-14-2004, 09:51 PM changed mine the other week, like they said, take the bolt off and when pulling up twist a little, theres a rubber o-ring that helps seals, i paid 41 bucks w/tax for the oem replacment, the ones at auto store looked diff and cost the same price. plus dealer should have in stock, i went in and asked for the part and he knew what i wanted. said thats pretty common. when reinstalling spray some slippery stuff or some lube on o-ring to install easier and wont rip o-ring BleedDodge 10-14-2004, 10:34 PM Check your fuses as well. ral3ph 10-15-2004, 12:20 PM changed mine the other week, like they said, take the bolt off and when pulling up twist a little, theres a rubber o-ring that helps seals, i paid 41 bucks w/tax for the oem replacment, the ones at auto store looked diff and cost the same price. plus dealer should have in stock, i went in and asked for the part and he knew what i wanted. said thats pretty common. when reinstalling spray some slippery stuff or some lube on o-ring to install easier and wont rip o-ring ok i've got the bolt out, does the whole thing come out of the diff,i've been twisting it but it won't come out.oh and another ? how does the conector come off icant figure it out. thx for your help LTJGWorth 10-15-2004, 04:48 PM You may have to do a little prying on it to get it out, but it just slides right out after the bolt is off. I'm not sure about the connector. Should have a button on it that you push to release it. Then again, i've messed with connectors on my truck that had little plastic pins in them to help hold them in place. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
