where do you drain the radiator fluid?flashlica 10-13-2004, 01:46 PM My dad wants me to help him with his radiator fluid change. It is a 2002 8 Cyl. I looked underneath and found what I tought was a plug. It will only go about 1/2 turn. I dont want to force it because It doesnt look like it goes any further. No fluid comes out. (cap was removed) Anyone done theres that knows. Otherwise I will probobly just undo the bottom hose. Thanks in advance Mike crazy cajun 10-13-2004, 02:14 PM should be on the right hand side on the bottom facing the engine wont turn much but should drain the water out LTJGWorth 10-13-2004, 04:47 PM Hell, just do it like we all do. Take the bottom radiator hose off. You'll get all your fluid drained in about a minute (or less). Then just slip it back on, tighten the clamp, and fill 'er back up. BleedDodge 10-13-2004, 09:09 PM Better yet, why are you changing the water on a 2 year old truck? flashlica 10-14-2004, 02:04 AM Better yet, why are you changing the water on a 2 year old truck? It has clase to 100,000 miles already. Is it still necesarry to change it? Mabye I will have him check his manual. LTJGWorth 10-14-2004, 08:48 AM Change it whenever you feel like it. If there is rust in it, it does need changing. fredjacksonsan 10-14-2004, 09:00 AM I change mine every 18 months, probably a bit anal but I've never had a cooling problem in any vehicle I've owned. Except for that one time that the freezing rain totally blocked my grill and no air got to the radiator. :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
