The speedometer on my 1995 GC works about 70% of the time. I have already replaced the speed sensor with no change. This is the sensor located towards the top of the transmission and there appears to be 2 more sensors more towards the back. Did I replace the correct sensor? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks

The vehicle speed sensor is the one in the transfer case.Usually if it goes bad you will also get a check engine light.

Iam not sure which one you replaced? like XJ said the speed sensor is the transfer case and you should have set a code. Is your check engine light on?if it is check your codes. Also with the speedometer being eracitic I found on different vechiles the wiring and connections go bad see if you have any breaks or shorts from the speed sensor back.

How can you access the back of your instrument panel to check the speed sensor wiring? My speedometer goes up with increased speed, but jumps around within about 10mph of actual speed. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
