s10 ss? kidrocket 02-17-2002, 03:20 PM
what are the differences in specs between an s10 ss and a normal s10? redneck37343 04-04-2002, 07:13 AM 5 h.p. more. kidrocket 05-02-2002, 07:14 PM whoa nelly.. i dunno if i can handle it sparq 05-03-2002, 05:00 AM Originally posted by kidrocket whoa nelly.. i dunno if i can handle it Wow great to see the chevy people have alot going for them here  I think the SS adds about the same HP as a Type R sticker does on our hondas! :lol2: redneck37343 05-03-2002, 06:46 AM But the s-19 actually looks goos! flylwsi 07-13-2002, 03:23 PM actually... depending on the year... the 94-97 got a better motor... 190hp vortec vs 160 or so hp... not much else... 98 ss's could be had with the zq8 susp package... InSiDiOusSS 10-04-2003, 02:52 PM actually the difference is about a second to a second n a half in the Quarter mile my ss runs a 16.1 in west texas with bad elevation and bad air in houston it runs a 15.4 stock they come standard with posi 4.3 highoutput 3 42 gears and alot of other stuff there fast for 6s studballs 10-10-2003, 03:11 PM uh...are u aware that a regular cab automatic ZQ8 S10 is the same exact truck as a 98 SS except for i believe a leather wrapped steering wheel and SS badges and bowtie?? You can also get them with the G80 LSD and as far as i know all automatics come with the 3.42 ratio with the 4.3 liter And as far as a regular ZQ8 S10 is a second to a second and a half slower than an SS...unless its the 94-97 which may only be at most 2 tenths faster... :bs: Later Chad InSiDiOusSS 10-14-2003, 01:22 PM i was talking about extended cabs and yes the ss is faster due to the high output motor i have not crossed a regular cab v6 that has come close to beating me studballs 10-16-2003, 03:41 PM the 1998 SS motor is the same motor as the 1998 and up regular 4.3 liter...only the 4x4's come with 190 hp for those years Later Chad imprtsyco 10-23-2003, 06:38 PM hay sorry i am posting under my roomates name. i have a 96 s10 ss with more done to it then anyone else with an s10 i have ever met and i only run a 14.9 who ever says that there stock s10 does 15.4 in the quarter better check the time slip again. if they got that read out from one of those take home quarter mile lighter plug in things you are a fool. if you want to see my s10 go to fuzionracing.streetracing.org see yah studballs 10-23-2003, 10:34 PM imprtsyco you are running NA right? just bolt on? that is very good for just bolt on's...fastest i have seen was a Red SS from california who ran a 14.2 all motor with all bolt ons and torque converter, slicks etc... Good Job Later Chad chevyfan305 10-24-2003, 08:05 AM i was talking about extended cabs and yes the ss is faster due to the high output motor i have not crossed a regular cab v6 that has come close to beating me race a syclone then tell me a regular cab 6 cylinder hasnt beat you studballs 10-24-2003, 02:21 PM race a syclone then tell me a regular cab 6 cylinder hasnt beat you good point man...good point indeed! :smokin: I can name about 15 trucks off the top of my head on s-seriesforum.com that would beat you so badly InSiDiOusSS it would make you feel like you were driving a 3 cylinder metro. There is always someone out there with a faster S-Series, or in your case about 250+ NA 4.3 liters not counting around 9,000 syclones and typhoons out there. I dont even put a syclone in the same category as a regular V6 S10...theres just no comparison Done Ranting Later Chad sleepey7 04-21-2007, 11:56 PM one of the diffs is that the s-10 shifts at 2500 rpm the ss shifts at 5800 ZL1power69 04-23-2007, 08:24 AM sleepey7, welcome to af. this thread is over 5 years old. please refrain from posting in older threads.
