Venture Fuel Or Electrical?

Have a 2000 Chevy Venture which will not start. Did manage to get it started with starting fluid and drove 200 miles without stopping. Next day it would not start again. There is no noise to the fuel pump when the key is turned on. Anyone out there who has any idea if it is electrical or the fuel pump? Thanks, LWBSDA

It's time for a fuel pump

I've heard these vans have a known problem with fuel pumps going. I was warned by the dealer to change the fuel filter early and often. (every 60,000 km). Hopefully it helps. A friend with a 2000 Montana had to replace his, I belive under 100,000 km.

Be sure to check the plug underneath the driver's side sliding door. Look under the van and you should see a couple of plugs going into the body. One is smaller than the other. The smaller one is for the ABS system and the bigger one is for the fuel pump. I had this problem and all I had to do was unplug the fuel pump clean out the connectors and plug it back in. The van started with no problems. I have had problems since then though. The van starts and runs but it hesitates and has trouble idling.
