painting altezza'so*HeR() 10-11-2004, 07:04 PM ok i recently purchased some chrome altezza's for the soul purpose of painting the chrome cany apple red now is it as easy as it seams? couple coats of paint 3 coats clear? and dont paint over the red allready on the lights? Killa_DSM 10-11-2004, 07:13 PM I think Shpyder has done that before. In my opinion it looked really good. Try looking through some old threads, you may find some pics. I would go for it. Killa_DSM 10-11-2004, 07:18 PM george536 10-12-2004, 01:51 AM he put those on ebay. i think Shpyder 10-12-2004, 10:56 PM yeah youre right! I got used altezzas for $61 shipped. Painted em and sold em for $125. jmen 10-13-2004, 07:13 PM Hey shpyder where those just altezzas that they sell on ebay. do all of them have 3 lights? Cause now i want some. Looks awsome Shpyder 10-16-2004, 02:11 PM thanks. Well, basically, there are so many altezzas out there. Just pick the one you like, spray testors on it, and your done! I personally liked my own ones, with 3 circles in them, but TYC makes ones with 2 ovals, and another company has 2 regualr circles, etc, etc. o*HeR() 10-17-2004, 10:03 PM hey did you spray the inside on the chrome or on the inside clear part? Shpyder 10-18-2004, 03:38 AM just cleaned them real well with a moist rag. placed them on a stand at chest height. sprayed 3 coats in a continuous motion left to right....dried over night....nothing fancy, but the result was aweseom...NO airbubbles! hellah fresh 10-18-2004, 11:36 PM you spray the clear part not the inside. so basically 3-5 light coat of transparent red and then for a better looking light add 2-4 coats of clear. use and air brush better tho. Shpyder 10-19-2004, 01:53 AM actually, i didnt even add a clear coat. ive had them for 2 months on my car now, in sun and rain, and not a single faded spot. its more simple than most beleive! just make sure you paint them properly...the first pair on my spyder were PERFECT....looked like factory stuff. the second ones i put on ebay were a lot worse with tons of bubbles... Nayr747 10-20-2004, 10:36 PM lol, Shpyder i think you jacked that guy on ebay. Quote: "I got used altezzas for $61 shipped. Painted em and sold em for $125." "the second ones i put on ebay were a lot worse with tons of bubbles..." Hey Shpyder I sent you a pm about the tails before i saw this thread so just disregard it. Anyhoo, I have done more research on this than any sane person should do. I have a collection of hundreds of pics and many websites. I can tell you one thing: If you want the best posible results use red transparent vinyl. Here's one site to show you how it looks: http://members.cox.net/rsxmotorsports/ http://members.cox.net/rsxmotorsports/redout01.JPG http://members.cox.net/rsxmotorsports/redout02.JPG If anyone really wants more info on this ( and I do mean MORE) I can put up all the links. I cant get the pics up though, sorry. Shpyder 10-21-2004, 05:19 PM Actually, I did not jack anyone. I made it clear that the lights were used, and that I had just sprayed them over with testors. told them exactly what they were getting, and what i did and how i did it. Nayr747 10-22-2004, 07:26 PM I'm not trying to talk shit man. I just thought it was funny. Good job on the lights though. Shpyder 10-23-2004, 04:20 PM no offense taken actually. The guy just left me positive feedback saying how he loved them. haha. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
