Question about maintenanceoogle8 10-10-2004, 09:10 PM I'm thinking about buy a mercedes-benz but I live about almost 200 miles away from the "big city" (and the place where I plan to purchase the vehicle), would you know if places like meineke or somewhere else similar can perform the maintenance of a luxury car such as that? blindside.AMG 10-18-2004, 07:49 AM Well, the service intervals on Mercedes are around 10,000 miles depending on your driving style. So you'll probably only have to deal with the trip once a year. Plus, Mercedes has scheduled maintenance so you don't have to pay for the service while the car is under warranty. I, as a Mercedes technician, would advise against going to those "quick lube" places. I doubt most (or any) of them have Mobil 1 in stock which is what Mercedes requires. Mercedes also gives you a loaner car for the time your vehicle is in the shop so I wouldn't worry too much about the trip. I say talk to the dealership and get a full rundown of what they have to offer you. Yeah yeah yeah. I know all about the reliability issues and anybody thinking of buying the car has most likely researched it for themselves. Plus, the question was about maintenance, not warranty issues. ;) Thats Gawbage 11-19-2004, 08:17 PM Yeah yeah yeah. We do services etc a lot differently in England it would seem. I'm a service team manager for Mercedes-Benz and if I'd told a customer what you just told that guy I'd get shot!!! So are services during the warranty period free in America then??? davemisto 12-12-2004, 11:09 AM you should never bring your mercedes-benz to anyone other than an authorized dealer, also, some of our newer cars do not have engine oil and/or trans fluid dipsticks, so moreons at those shops won't have a clue, MBtech vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
