Poss. fix for Air Suspension Problems!!!

I just got myself a 91 Town Car. What a beauty! I have been looking through this forum to get some info on it and I see that there are a few posts for problems with the air suspension. I heard they were trouble way back when. I picked mine up for $350.00 because the light was on and the owner didnt want to even attempt to fix it or look into it for fear of what it might entail. I checked the relay for it on the pass. side under the hood and one of the terminals on the block itself was toast. I cleaned it up and put in the relay and the back end went right up. Its been a week and so far so good.

I saw that a few of the posts said that after awhile the light would come on but it would be ok after the car sat but then would come back on. Is the relay getting hot from overuse? I would imagine that the car is always adjusting the susp. which would put some kind of excessive wear on the electrical system. I am not sure how this all works but I figured I would share this. I was scared it was going to need a whole new suspension too. If anyone finds this to be the case with theirs, please drop me a line. g_whiz79@hotmail.com Good Luck!!!!

Your compressor could be drawing a lot of power from being worn out.

Read the links in my post to learn more about diagnosing and repairing the system.
