The GTC back in action.

It has been a long time since I've had any action besides that recent, not so astonishing, kill in the Sebring. I was bored tonight and decided to go get something to eat.

Now, before I start, I want to warn you that this is a pretty long story with a few different "kills" per say.

So, anyhow, it had been a couple of weeks since I had taken the GTC out for a drive. Now, all of the drives I have taken it out on have been simply to keep the seals good and run the engine through heat cycles. So I went to get my hair cut and after that I decided to get something to eat. I had no intentions on going for much of a drive but the McDonalds in American Fork doesn't take credit cards anymore. I could have gone to one of the many other places around but I decided to see what was going on down in the Orem and Provo area.

I was hoping to get some kills. :smokin:

I head out on State Street going south. Not much action as I drive through American Fork and Pleasant Grove. However, as I’m sitting at a light someone behind me decides to take the other lane. He keeps inching up like he might want to get in front of me when the light turned green. Light changed and he gives it quite a bit of gas. I simply pace him until he got annoyed and went WOT. I dropped the hammer and hit my over boost cut but I still managed to put a good four cars on him just in third. It was my first official kill in the new GTC. However, I was kind of disappointed, one because it hits the over boost cut faster than the old GTC did. Nothing an afternoon and some crap from home depot can't fix. Second, I wanted the first kill to be against something more glamorous than a damn GMC Yukon.

After that I have gotten through Pleasant Grove and I am making my way into Orem and the start of where people generally like to cruise State Street. There aren't too many people out yet, it is early, only about seven thirty. No matter, there are still a few people out. I pass a Stealth ES whose owner looked like he wanted a piece but we were stuck in traffic. After a few more blocks I came across a white Honda Civic with some rims, a crummy looking exhaust, and a half descent looking spoiler. We get to a red light, just what I've been waiting for. He has his music up and I look over, granted he has some extra weight in the car with his girl friend in the passenger seat, but I don't care I'm only running 10 or 11 PSI and I have a restrictive as hell muffler.

Screw him!

I look over and give him a rev. He looks over and throws one back. After all, he can't be seen loosing to a LeBaron in front of his woman. The light turns green and I don't even bother to launch, I thought it was only fair, so of course he gets the jump. I drop the hammer and catch up without a problem. By third, he is too far back to count how many car lengths I beat him by. Just another base model Civic with a ton of superficial mods.

Nothing much after that until I get into the Provo area where it seems I have picked up a follower. I think my new license plate might be attracting the kind of attention I want. That or he is wondering why a LeBaron is taking off faster than any LeBaron has business doing. It's an Integra, and he is trying to keep up with me as we head trough traffic, which mind you is going under the speed limit. Nothing came of it as I lost him at a light.

Well I decide to turn around and head for home, but how convenient here is a McDonalds. I just get what I wanted here. I decide to head back the way I came and got nothing all the way until I was nearing Pleasant Grove again. There was a Honda Accord behind me that seemed like he was in a hurry. Traffic was a tad heavy so it wasn't like we were going anywhere fast. A few cars turn off and now there is a clearing so he decides to go out around me. I decide to give chase. He has a tasteful understated spoiler and body kit. He also has a nice looking exhaust and it doesn't sound half bad either. He also has a pretty nice set of wheels on the car. I’m hoping he will put forth more effort than the similar Civic did earlier. I pace him and we were about to go but we hit some more traffic. I let off my throttle and that beautiful noise that I never tire of hearing sounds. Unfortunately it gives me away and now he won't have anything of it. In fact he gets back in behind me until the turn around point. Too bad I am going straight.

After that I head home up close to the base of the mountains on some nice twisty country back roads at speeds that probably aren't a good idea, not only for the sake of tickets but also because of the fact this car needs new tires, brakes, and suspension.

It was a gratifying night and I am very pleased with the performance of the car considering the shape it's in. Like I said, I can get it where the old GTC was in about an afternoon. However, I don't understand why there were only really Hondas running around. I guess the bigger fish come out later.

Until next time. :sunglasse

Hey poly, just come out around between 9-12. I saw tons of guys over at the Savers parking lot, across from the New police station. There also were a ton of guys around 11 tonight. I got a few races in. Lost a few, won a few. It doesn't matter. I do have a good story, but i'll tell everyone tomorrow when I'm actually more awake then I am now. Anyway, too bad about the night, nice kills though. Late...

You must really appreciate McDognalds if you drove all that way for some Microwaved Road Kill.

It's ok, I get cravings for their breakfast sauges sometimes. Their new breakfaste sauge burrito isn't bad at all. Might have to get one in the morning... if I wake up early enough. :)

Oh, fun stuff.

Yeah, I figured I was way too early to see much out. Once I get the turbo pushing 14PSI and at least get the tires taken care of I'll have to make another run down State with it. I hate that damn muffler too. In time I'll have that fixed as well.

Can't wait to hear about the kills!

Thanks for actually reading that guys, I figured it was kind of long. Also, Matt, you know there isn't any meat at McDonalds. I dion't know why, I just had a craving for a Big Mac and what better excuse to go for a cruise? :icon16:

Gotta love LeBarons, mah cousin has a 3.0 LeBaron that's pretty quick, good little sleeper car... Yeah those damn Yukons thinking that they can muscle their way wherever they want, way to not take their shit... Good kill on the Honda.

You must have really been craving McD's. I dont think i've ate their in like 2 years...:p

Yeah, McD's isn't my first choice, but they were there and they were cheap.

I'd take you up on that. You'd probably beat me for the time being mainly because of this restrictive muffler I had installed, just to pass emissions, and I'm running low boost. :)
