so i was chilling with my boys , the cars are basically 3 evo 8,
g's car- silver evo 8- turbo sx intake
raj car- black evo 8- cf/ hood, up grader raditor, and turbo sx intake
other boys car- black evo 8 -3" turbo back, intake, ported turbo, hella lot of other stuff, re-flashe ecu.. dynoed at 344whp..

so all 3 of them were messing around on the hi-way (van-wick) we were doing about 130 easy.. man does these cars handle, i was in the silver evo. the 344whp evo was in the lead and the other black was behind (hes not the best of a driver) so the to other evos cut out on the way home.. so im with the in the silver evo.. doing about 100.. we fly by a saleen mustang.. i told my boy to slow down.. so we cruse to about 70ish.. the red saleen catches up and gets along sided of us.. my boy gives it some gass in 3rd boost hits hard and he lets off and hears the bov.. so he takes the bait.. from 3rd we hit it 70mph we ate this saleen up.. we went to about 130 again.. but he wasnt that far behing.. only about 2 cars at most.. so it makes me wonder if it was a poser saleen.. but need less to say ev0 8 are sooo freaking fast...

last night my boy bry scared the shit out of me in his EVO 8 as well. we were coming home from peterpan and our friend with a rsx as jokin aroudn talkin shit about his evo. well when we got on the clearview we hit around 135 mph for a very very very long time taking corners cutting lanes and braking from 135 to 30mph like nothing. that car has such incredible gripe and such awesome brakes and crazy handling. my 240 even with my mods has to let off on alot of the corners he was taking and no way my brakes can do that, even though mine are 300ZX TT brake conversions.

hmm good race and sounds like fun. I dont know anything abou saleen mustangs, but i thought they were just a GT with a body kit. . .

yea man evo 8's are amazing machines, hey im gona ask my boy when he get this turbo back maybe we can set up a race or something..

on a straightline in the highway. but not for doing shit like that. anyways one of my friends EVO 8 already has a intake and turbo back exhuast just put in. but this was like 3 days ago. so his car is still tryin to relearn it. so it doesn't feel all that fast yet.

Haha, at the dealership I worked at over the summer, we weren't allowed to detail any of Mitsu's cars or any Mustangs because some of the guys took out evo 8s, mach1s, and cobras and went joyriding/racing down a nearby freeway. I heard good things about all 3. I'm waiting for the day I get to line up next to an evo 8.

yea it was very fun.. made me jealous tho of how fast these car was compared to mine and what little work they did to their car.. but then again they paid 30'g for their car and i got mine for free! hehe...

Those Evos are spectacular cars. Very fun and sporty. Just be careful taking them turns at high speeds. A friend of mine thought he could do that with his Miata, and those things handle nicely, but he still wrapped it around a tree.

Hmm...thats it, time to cancel Project Turbo M, and comence with the other project idea (a turboed up 330xi...all wheel drive turbo Bavarian numiness...) I must take an Evo, lol. Sounds like fun, I love it when friends with fast cars let you ride with them. Tell your bud good kill on the stang.

Evo 8s are bad as hell. With simple shit like intake downpipe, exhaust, and a boost controller, they can make some serious power. Congrats on the ride.

thats what that fat ass wing on the evo's is meant for, taking corners at high speeds. It gives the car a lil bit more balance and grip around those turns. Note: the wing itself won't prevent you from death in highspeed turns......but it'll help

Incorrect, i believe your thinking of the Stage 1 Roush mustangs. The Stage 1 Roush is a GT with Roush suspension, body kit, decals, and some other little stuff (wheels) and something i'm missing i'm sure. But i'm almost positive that's what your thinking of. The Saleen Mustangs, even the lowest grade saleen (S281) has 290hp vs. the Roush stage 1 265HP, think.

All I can say is cool. Sounds like a fun night.

sorry but it had to of been a roush mustang, saleens are supercharged gt's with 405 rwhp, and a body kit, not to mention the saleen 281 which does a 10 sec qm, and could tear up a viper

sry i was thinking of the saleen s7 with the 10 sec qm, saleen 281's come supercharged and not, the 281 not sc has 290hp, the sc 281 has 375 hp,

Glad you corrected yourelf, Please try and think of a valid arguement and hget your facts straight next time? And there are lots of different saleen mustangs. all go by the 281 denomination though. but you have convertibles, coupes, super charged, N/A, and of course, the Extreme.

My guess it is either a Faleen or a regular S281 with 290 hp. Given that a S281 runs the quarter in 13.8 and a stock evo runs about the same. Im suprised the Saleen didnt get the edge if all he had was an intake, because considering the 2 cars run about the same quarter mile, but the evo has incredible traction and a saleen has worse traction off the line then a regular GT because the suspension is modified to cater to track racing, making sacrifices on the launch.

A S281 SC would have been a lot faster, they run 13 flat with the same traction problems. Not only that the saleen supercharger caters to highway bursts of speed, and the car is regeared to be stronger from highway speeds up.
