Is there such thing on a 99 V6? I seem to always poer oil on the brace and a-arm from the filter. Is there an oil filter relocation kit out there?, if so how well does it do? Thanks

From the filter? why is there so much oil coming froim your filter if you are removing the drain plug first? there shouldn't be anymore really than the filter can hold. I am confused.

I think Rockgate's point is that there is some oil in the filter that spills. It's not all that much (a couple of oz), but any oil is too much. It is a fact of life with that engine.

Ya, just a few oz. but it still makes a mess. I had a Tacoma with the 2.4 and the filter on it was pointed straight up. So there was hardly any mess as long as you hold the filter steady.

Okay now i got you. I have never seen anything for that except a good pan on an engine jack.

Thanks. Do you have one ? Do you need to mount the filter lower than original location so you can get the oil out of the lines?

The lines will drain no matter how you mount it. No, I don't have one. I don't find changing the filter to be that big of a deal. I just take off the engine covers and wipe stuff down after I'm done.

That reference I gave you is just one of many brands of oil filter relocation kits. I have heard of others who have used it, but I don't particularly recommend that brand over any others. I would search the web and see if you can find others.
