new TSi AWDEclipseBabe95 10-07-2004, 11:34 PM guys! i put my 95 eclipse gs in dsmtrader.com and i already got a response from someone who wants to make an offer, and i found this guy with a 95 Talon TSi AWD who really needs to get it off his hands, he will take 3900 and its in really good shape.... here's the details http://www.dsmtuners.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=8224 what do you guys think! i mean i still have to sell my gs, but is there anything else i can ask him about it? and how hard is replacing a second gear synchro and replace a wastegate actuator? THANKS SO MUCH im really excited, any advice on this whole thing would be appreciated :-D -a EclipseRST 10-08-2004, 12:00 AM looks good but the thing is needs tranny work and "doesnt know" if it has CW... a car that cheap usually means there is a big reason he is getting rid of it! the syncro's arent a big deal plus that is very low milage for that price! if in fact it doesnt have CW then i'd say shit you got a good deal! EDIT: i see now it says it has 155K for milage... find out the reason the motor was replace in the first case, see if he has the papers for it, and if you are really serious about this take it to mitsu and have them check the thrust bearing/crank for play just to be safe, unless you know how to check it and have all the tools! o*HeR() 10-08-2004, 12:02 AM good price EclipseBabe95 10-08-2004, 12:04 AM thanks jake what about a T25 turbo, im sorry im a noob but is that much better than stock? and how hard is replacing a wastegate actuator? thanks sooooooooo much  -a EclipseRST 10-08-2004, 12:06 AM it says it has a T28... better than stock by far but the wastegate is a couple of bolts and a cotter pin... easy replacement ;) EclipseBabe95 10-08-2004, 12:11 AM ok, well i mean how do i check it for cw before i buy it, itd kinda be hard... plus he lives a couple hours away so its not like i can really hop down and back super fast..... thanks for the info about the wastegate, as long as the synchro isnt that hard to replace, i see a real good deal. btw, you guys rock thanks for listening to me :smooch: -a EclipseRST 10-08-2004, 12:33 AM you should take it to a dealer to check it... its not easy and if you dont have the tools there is no way your goin to be able to do it! good luck with it, hope everything works out! EclipseBabe95 10-08-2004, 12:34 AM will it be expensive to check for a dealer? -a EclipseRST 10-08-2004, 12:36 AM not positive... shouldnt take more than an hr of labor. call them tomorrow and find out how much it cost to check a car for crank walk or as most people know, thrust bearing failure. EclipseBabe95 10-08-2004, 12:42 AM jake, you rock. i could kiss you lol HAPPY BIRTHDAY too. i'll let you know how it works out. muah** -a I LOVE CAR SHOPPING!!!!!! youngvr4 10-08-2004, 01:02 AM jakes the man :smokin: EclipseRST 10-08-2004, 01:06 AM your welcome! thats what i'm here for... good luck and hopefully it turns out not to have CW. george536 10-08-2004, 02:49 AM at my dealership they charge you 60 bucks to check it.
