Need help for my 85, cuts out... anyone??crusheroz 02-16-2002, 02:35 AM This 85 I just got for free cuts out on a relaxed, lets say, interstate drive, or in town when your not accelerating or decelerating. Runs kinda rough on idle also. I just got done replacing the cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. But it made a difference but its still running rough like I said above. Checked all my vacuum lines, there good, had to replace a few. Havent checked timing, or carb, not a carb man. The only thing I know to do about carbs is rebuild not troubleshoot or adjust. Got a small Chiltons manual but its focusing on the 83's and earlier. I am hoping that someone reads this and says, ya,, its this.. or just somewhere to start looking. The engine is only two years old but I dont know the history of this car, from what I can tell it was neglected and not takin care of. A typical city driver I guess. Put gas in and roll. Thanks, Chris. corolla_85 08-22-2006, 04:20 AM i have a 85 corolla repair manual that seems 2 be on vacation but i had a similar problem on my 86 camry. it was a clogged fuel filter but ill check my manual and post again whrn i have some clues calaboot 08-28-2006, 04:20 PM nah bro deff the carb had a prob with my 81 rolla and i didnt rebuild but just took apart and cleaned like hell . do that n youll be great. but change the fuel filter like the man says. dmalou 08-28-2006, 04:29 PM [quote=crusheroz]This 85 I just got for free cuts out on a relaxed, lets say, interstate drive, or in town when your not accelerating or decelerating.
