I finally got my car back today after having the engine rebuilt, and not after driving it 200 miles, oil starts pouring out from underneath the motor. I brought it to meineke and they said it was the cam seal. They told me that it had "popped" out of place. He said that chrysler had a recall on this seal and that my mechanic prob put an "old style" seal back in the motor instead of the replacement. Has anyone heard of this recall? Or do you know where i can find out some more info on this seal problem.

if the oil is comming from under the motor and the cams are on the top ,how dose that work....?

trying to put 2 and 2 together ,but it sounds like the mechanic was blowing smoke up your ass...

It would still come out the bottom, since it would be flowing down behind the cam/tbelt covers.

Well, to be more specific it is actually coming from the passenger side under the plastic cover for the belts. Have you heard of a recall or redesigned version of the seal, because i cant find anything about a recall on the internet.

I am pretty sure that Mitsu would have to issue the recall. So if that recall exists on a Chrysler vehicle like the neon it would not matter for our cars
