:banghead: 93 jgc limited, when travelng above 35 and i apply the brakes, the steering shimmys violently. New pads and shoes all the way around, new calipers rotors and drums. no play in the steering linkage or ball joints.

did you use a torque wrench to tighten the wheel nuts??

thats a prime cause of warped rotors.

are the hubs and wheel surfaces clean and smooth??

no but i did use the tightening sequence and im pretty good at torquing by hand. yes the surfaces are clean, undiscolord and not gouged.

was the shake there before you installed the new parts??

if not, how soon after the install did it start the shakes???

unless something is wrong with the caliper install, i cant think of anything besides a warped rotor that will cause the problem when you brake.

unless you use a torque wrench you wont know how consistant and close to spec you are.

in a circular pattern, the pattern is less important than even torque values to maintaining rotor straightness.

some vehicles are more sensitive to this than others.

maybe one of the rotors is defective.

GOOD THOUGHTS! the problem started about 2000 miles after the brakes were replaced. im thinking more along the lines of a shackle worn out. ill keep you posted

Check your steering stablizer they usally dont act out like that but is worth a try.You can check the Rotors by removing the tires and putting a couple of lugs back on to hold the rotors in place. Then placing a jack stand with something straight close to the rotor and turn the rotors if all is good wont be any variation or very little.

Yup, I found the front lower front control arm bushing bad, $7.00 and about 20 minutes, beat the old one out and the new one back in. hope this helps yall lol

I had the same problem with my 94. New front shocks fixed all the problems.
