90 RR 3.9 Won't Startteamplus 10-06-2004, 06:29 PM My RR was running great until I put it up and quit starting it regularly. It has sat for over 1 1/2. It's getting fire and I have replaced the rotor and cap. It tries to start but will not. I presume it is a fuel issue. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to check if it is getting fuel. I know nothing about fuel injection-only old big blocks. Can I just loosen a line where it connects to one bank of the metal injector fuel-feed line and turn the igintion on. Additionally, is the fuel pump in the tank? Thanks, Gary RBD 10-07-2004, 04:58 PM Not an expert here but a few general thoughts. You should hear the fuel pump run up to pressure when you first turn the key without the starter. Only for a second or three at most. If not check the relays and fuses, under the left hand front seats I think. It is a brown relay from memory. Removing a pipe on the injection banks is a bit iffy as the pressures are quite high, upto 60 psi in some systems. The possibility of a dirty connection or loose one is quite high. R. teamplus 10-07-2004, 05:08 PM thanks for your reply-i am getting volrage to the pump, therefore my presumtion is it must be the pump. I have disconnected ther fuel line before the fuel filer near the tank and no fuel upon cranking. I guess it's time to remove the tank. I'm not sure what years it applies to. teamplus 10-12-2004, 02:09 PM Thanks for your response and help! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
